Integrated resort (IR) operator SJM Resorts said in a recent statement that it had invited families from The Salvation Army Joy Family Integrated Service Centre to its sprawling Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) property in Cotai earlier this month.

The statement noted that the invitation was part of SJM’s initiative to offer the families an opportunity to explore its newest arts and entertainment offerings, as well as to foster “stronger family connections through engaging activities and to spread positivity throughout the Macau community”.

The statement said that during their visit, the families were guided by SJM staff to the “Donald Duck 90 – The Fabulous Gallery”, where they explored the exhibit and memorabilia area.

The statement said that the families also met Donald and Daisy Duck, who were dressed in classic sailor outfits aboard a 3D ship at Jardim Secreto (Secret Garden), adding that the children received Donald Duck-themed Chinese New Year (CNY) fai chun*.

The families then visited the resort’s Martial Arts Arena themed experience zone where they engaged in a state-of-the-art virtual training experience and virtual reality (VR) games, the statement added. The participants were also offered a glimpse into “the prowess of Macau’s martial artists” through videos at the “Introduction to Macau Martial Arts” exhibition.

*Fai chun is a traditional decoration that is frequently used during CNY. People put them outside the door to create an optimistic festive atmosphere, since the phrases written on them refer to good luck and prosperity. – Source: Wikipedia
