The 16th edition of the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau was hosted yesterday at Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) in Cotai, with Chef Tam’s Seasons at Wynn Palace and Sushi Kinetsu at City of Dreams (COD) having been awarded one MICHELIN star each for the first time, while The Huiyang Garden at The Londoner Macao has been elevated to a two MICHELIN stars rating.

A total of 95 restaurants were recognised with MICHELIN Stars, 16 of which are in Macau.

There are nine restaurants that retained their three MICHELIN Stars in Hong Kong and Macau, with Jade Dragon at City of Dreams and Robuchon au Dôme at Grand Lisboa being from Macau.

Moreover, six out of the 18 restaurants recognised with the two MICHELIN Star rating are from Macau, namely Alain Ducasse at Morpheus in City of Dreams; Feng Wei Ju in StarWorld; Mizumi (Macau) in Wynn Macau; The Eight at Grand Lisboa Hotel; Wing Lei at Wynn Macau; and the newly promoted The Huiyang Garden.

Restaurants 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo - Bombana at Galaxy Macau; Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI, Lai Heen at The Ritz-Carlton; Pearl Dragon at Studio City; Ying at Altria Macau; and Zi Yat Heen at Four Seasons Hotel Macao were each recognised with one MICHELIN star, along with new awardees Chef Tam’s Seasons and Sushi Kinetsu. The eight restaurants were among a total of 68 awarded one MICHELIN Star.

Moreover, the IFTM Educational Restaurant was again awarded the MICHELIN Green Star.

This year also saw three local eateries—Kapok, Restaurante Litoral (Taipa) and Son Tak Kong— awarded the Bib Gourmand distinction, a rating that “recognises friendly establishments that serve good food at moderate prices”, according to the MICHELIN website. This brings the number of local eateries or outlets with Bib Gourmand distinction to 10.

In total, the full selection of the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2024 showcases 214 eateries in Hong Kong and 48 in Macau.

Yesterday’s event was attended by guests including SJM Managing Director Daisy Ho Chiu Fung and Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong.
