The local observatory said yesterday that under the influence of a northeast monsoon, starting today the temperature was expected to drop “slightly” and be accompanied by a few rain showers.
A statement by the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) yesterday also said it expected the temperature and humidity in Macau to continue to change frequently this week, with alternating wet and dry weather.
According to the statement, being continuously affected by the dry phase of the northeast monsoon, the observatory predicted that the weather between today and Thursday would be cooler in the morning and in the evening, while sunnier during the daytime.
The statement also pointed out that as the spring weather in southern China generally changes rapidly, the coast of Guangdong would come under the influence of an oceanic jet stream again from Friday, when the weather in Macau would become warm and humid yet again, with mist and a few showers in the morning and evening.
According to the weather station, the mercury is forecast to fall to up to 15 degrees Celsius today and tomorrow. The lowest temperature forecast for Thursday and Friday is 16 and 18 degrees, respectively. Over the weekend, the mercury is forecast to range between 20 and 25 degrees.
