China Southern Airlines launched its direct flights between Macau and Beijing’s Daxing airport yesterday, and the new route will have flights scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until April 24, and from April 25 onwards, the flights will run daily, China Southern Airlines Market Development Department Deputy General Manager Pang Yedong said yesterday.
The launching of the new route started with the first flight carrying 166 passengers from Daxing to Macau yesterday afternoon, the launch ceremony of which was held last night at The Plaza Restaurant.
The new China Southern flights with an Airbus 321 jet, are scheduled to take roughly three hours and 20 minutes, taking off from Macau at 3:55 p.m. and arriving in Beijing Daxing at 7:20 p.m. The return flights depart Beijing Daxing at 11:35 a.m. and land in Macau at 2:45 p.m.
Pang also said that Macau can take the advantage the global network of China Southern Airlines for connecting flights with the mainland’s northeastern and northwestern regions, as well as Central and Western Asia, Japan and South Korea, Europe and the United States, so that Macau can interconnect with more domestic and international destinations, and attract more international tourists.
China Southern Airlines will increase its capacity in Macau in line with the actual market situation, help build Macau into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, and make greater contributions to integrating Macau’s development into the nation’s overall development, and promote the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), Pang said.
