Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has started to display half a dozen “Hello Macau Street” installations in the northern district, with the aim of enticing visitors to discover new places around the city, MGTO said in a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, the “Hello Macau Street” installation series is part of the bureau’s “Play Cool – Macao!” project, comprising six installations that are displayed at six locations in the northern district, including the Leisure Area in Baía Norte do Fai Chi Kei, Leisure Area in Rua Central de Toi San, Iao Hon Market Park and Areia Preta Urban Park.
The six artworks are created by local signature font craftsman Lam Weng Io, with the aim of creating new tourist attractions, enhancing the image of the northern district, and giving residents and tourists a new way of experiencing the cityscape, the statement said.
The statement also said that at weekends and festivals, Macau mascot Mak Mak will interact with passers-by and perform dances at different installations at random times, welcoming residents and tourists alike to join in.
