Over 20 per cent of young local people’s gambling problems may affect their studies, relationships with their families and interpersonal relations, according to a survey conducted by the Bosco Youth Service Network (BYS).
A BYS statement said the survey on young people’s gambling problems was conducted last year. A total of 1,108 questionnaires were collected between January and December, 1,036 of which were valid. The respondents were aged between 13 and 21.
Addressing a press conference about the findings of the survey at the group’s office in Rua de Francisco António yesterday, Vincent Yp Weng Keong, the Roman-Catholic organisation’s chief executive officer, said this was the eighth time his group conducted the survey.
