The three-day 15th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) starts today at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo.

Details of the forum, themed “Green Innovative Digital Connectivity, were announced by Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) President Vincent U U Sang and China International Contractors Association Chairman Fang Qiuchen during a press conference yesterday at Cotai Expo.

The event’s exhibition area this year covers 8,000 square metres and is the largest in the forum’s history.

In his speech, Fang said that this year’s forum has been expanded by 60 percent and will be attended by large and medium-sized engineering enterprises, alongside specialised and innovative equipment manufacturers with leading digital and intelligent technologies and innovative green technologies.

Cutting-edge engineering technologies, mechanical and electrical equipment, and multi-purpose robots that meet Macau’s engineering needs will be exhibited at the event, Fang added.

Moreover, aside from the expanded exhibition area, U highlighted in his speech the two other “new records” for this year’s exhibition. These are namely the exhibition period running for three days instead of two, while the number of exhibitors this year has also increased by 53 percent over last year’s to 90, including a rise in the number of exhibitors from the ENR Top 250 International Contractors and state-owned enterprises.

A number of Macau enterprises will also take part in the exhibition and showcase content related to the “1+4”* industries following the thread of infrastructure construction, including modern financial services and high technology.

This year’s forum has attracted over 3,500 industry professionals from over 70 countries and regions. The event participation from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the Pan-Pearl River Delta region has also increased by 40 percent from last year.

The three-day event is set to have over 200 themed and supplementary activities such as keynote speeches, roundtable conferences and thematic forums. More details can be found on http://www.iiicf.org/.

*The Macau government’s 1+4 model aims to consolidate and diversify the development of the city’s tourism and leisure industry while putting special emphasis on promoting the development of four nascent industries, namely 1) big health, 2) modern finance, 3) high-tech, and 4) MICE and commerce as well as culture and sports.
