The School of the Nations (SON) said in a statement yesterday that its class of 2024 achieved outstanding International Baccalaureate (IB) results, with the school celebrating its third IB full-score and the 15th anniversary of becoming an IB World School.

The IB is “a global leader in international education – developing enquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people”, according to IB website. Yesterday’s SON statement noted that the school “believes in affording all students equal opportunities in the pursuit of a world-class IB education”, fully immersing them in the IB Diploma Programme, whether it is the full Diploma or on the Certificate track.

The statement noted that the class of 2024’s 37 students attained a 100 percent of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) passing rate and an outstanding average Diploma score of 35 points, surpassing the 2023 world average by 5 points.

The students have achieved the full 7 points in all the higher-level (HL) science subjects as well as in Mathematics AA HL. The statement added that full marks were achieved in all four Higher-Level Science subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS), and in Higher-Level Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches).

These results exceed the global average of 30.2 points for 2023, according to the statement.
