The Judiciary Police (PJ) received a report from the Fire Services Bureau yesterday at 11:54 a.m. stating that a teenage girl committed suicide by taking poison in a flat on Avenida 1 de Maio, the Judiciary Police said in a statement.

The victim was identified as a female local minor.

According to the girl’s mother, she saw her daughter enter her bedroom at around midnight and turn off the lights to go to sleep, the statement said.

However, when she looked in on her daughter at around 11:30 a.m. yesterday morning, she found the room lights on and her daughter unresponsive. She immediately called the emergency services.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a suicide note on the victim’s desk, and the room appeared orderly with no signs of a struggle, the statement said.

During the examination, a forensic team conducted a preliminary autopsy and found that the cause of death might be poisoning, and there were no visible signs of criminal injuries on the body, the statement said.

The statement said that a post-mortem examination will be performed, and the case was listed as dead body found.
