Macau recorded a total of 1.1 million visitor arrivals during an eight-day period from September 29 to October 6, according to immigration statistics released by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday.

Both September 29 and October 6 were Sundays.

The mainland’s 2024 National Day Golden Week holiday officially lasted seven days, from October 1 to 7.

Yesterday was the last day of this year’s seven-day National Day Golden Week holiday in the mainland.

Over 900,000 visitor arrivals in 6 days during National Day holiday

According to calculations based on PSP daily immigration statistics released previously, Macau recorded a total of 915,696 visitor arrivals from October 1 to 6, six days in total, or a daily average of 152,616.

During the eight-day period from September 29 to October 6, according to the PSP daily immigration statistics, the daily number of visitor arrivals stood at 96,717, 93,456, 138,254, 165,963, 174,234, 163,425, 150,532, and 123,288 respectively.

The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement on Thursday last week that on October 2, Macau recorded 166,100 visitor arrivals, adjusted by MGTO from PSP immigration statistics.

The MGTO statement said that the 166,100 visitor arrivals recorded on Wednesday last week was the then highest single-day number of visitor arrivals for the National Day Golden Week holiday on record, surpassing the previous single-day record of 162,100 on October 5, 2019.

In annual terms, Macau recorded its highest single-day number of visitor arrivals, 226,326, on February 7, 2019, i.e., the third day of Chinese New Year (CNY) of pre-pandemic 2019.

MGTO is yet to announce Macau’s total number of visitor arrivals recorded during this year’s seven-day National Day Golden Week holiday as yesterday was the last day of the holiday period.
