The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday that applications for its guided tours to revitalised historic buildings and family workshops, both of which are among the activities of the “Greater Bay Area Cultural Heritage Forum”, opens to members of the public today.

The around two-hour guided tours include sailing and walking tours, and are presented in Cantonese, Putonghua, Portuguese and English by professional docents, according to the statement.

A statement on the event website noted that the two tours aim to enhance members of the public’s understanding of the revitalisation of Macau’s historic buildings.

Meanwhile, the family workshops, themed “revitalised historic buildings in Macau”, aim to encourage children to learn and become more interested in Macau’s historic buildings through doing jigsaw puzzles with their parents, the statement added.

Both activities, the statement said, are slated for next month, and registration can be made via www.culturalheritage.mo/gbahforum/2024 or activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5 . A lucky draw will be held for workshop participants, while the guided tours are open for reservations for groups of 10 or more people.

The statement added that the forum, which focuses on “the integration and sharing of cultural heritage in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, will be held from October 31 to November 1 at the Macau Cultural Centre’s (CCM) Small Auditorium. It is set to have representatives from the Greater Bay Area (GBA), as well as cultural heritage experts from Macau and abroad.

“Connections and value of cultural heritage in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and “Preservation and utilisation of revolutionary cultural relics resources” are among the forum’s six topics, according to the event website.

More information and registration for the forum can be found on www.culturalheritage.mo/gbahforum/2024 or on one’s Macao One Account.
