A university student from the mainland has been arrested for repeatedly touching a female passenger’s arm with his groin, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Chi Weng said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Wong identified the suspect as a male surnamed Yeh in his twenties.
According to Wong, Yeh and the female local victim, also a university student, got on the same bus on Wednesday near the Hengqin checkpoint, after which the victim sat near the bus door, while Yeh stood beside her.
During the trip, the victim felt Yeh touching her arm with his groin several times. Subsequently, the victim yelled at Yeh, prompting him to move to the rear of the bus. After disembarking from the bus, the victim reported the incident to the police.
Yeh was arrested on Friday when he re-entered Macau through the Hengqin checkpoint. Under questioning, Yeh denied the accusation and claimed that the bus was crowded at the time and he might have “accidentally bumped” into the victim.
Yeh has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a sexual harassment charge, according to Wong.
