The government’s newly-built open-air venue for hosting large-scale performances, located on a large plot next to the Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) resort in Cotai, will hold a trial concert on December 28, and it is calling for bids from restaurateurs to provide food and beverage (F&B) services there, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement yesterday.
The facility is officially known as Macau Open-Air Performance Venue, which covers 94,000-square-metres with a capacity of 50,000 spectators.
There will be four containers for F&B businesses during the large-scale performances in Cotai on December 28, the statement said, adding that the application process is free of charge.
The application period, which started yesterday, runs until next Friday, and the evaluation criteria include the “compatibility with the atmosphere” of the outdoor performances, the “diversity and reasonableness of the prices of the operators’ light meals”, as well as the “aesthetics and practicality of the on-site decorations” of the booths, the statement said.
Successful applicants will be expected to operate their booths on the day of the concert on a self-sustaining basis, the statement said.
