A new exhibition entitled “Dreamscape Macao – Solo Exhibition of Alice Im” is set to open at The Parisian Macao next Friday, with the artist set to present a series of photographs taken over a span of five years.

According to a statement by Macau Art For All Society (AFA), Alice Im’s (嚴芳) latest exhibition, venue-sponsored by Sands China, is part of AFA’s annual “Ephemera – Women Narratives in Contemporary Images Exhibition Series” and is set to feature a total of 45 photographs.

The statement added that the images were also showcased at Contemporary Women’s Photography Exhibition at the Pingyao International Photography Festival and the Dali International Photography Festival.

The photographs feature Im clad in hotel bathrobes and towels, which the statement said allows her to become an “observer” while also symbolising “a state of namelessness, blurring the boundaries between individual and collective, local and tourist”. Those visiting the exhibition will also be invited to explore psychogeography through the works.

Psychogeography, according to AI chatbot Poe, is “a field of study that explores the relationship between geographic environments and psychological experiences. It combines elements of psychology and geography to understand how different places can influence emotions, behaviour, and social interactions”.

The venue for the exhibition’s opening ceremony next Friday is Shoppes at Parisian Level 3, Shop #305c. Members of the public can visit the venue from the following day through June 28 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. daily.
