MGM launched its new “MGM Responsible Gaming Employee Care Programme” last week, according to a Tuesday statement from the company.
The initiative was organised by MGM in conjunction with the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), University of Macau (UM) and Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), and co-organised by the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), Macao New Chinese Youth Association, Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home, and the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao.
The statement highlighted that the initiative is aimed to further the healthy and orderly growth of Macau’s tourism and leisure industry and to implement the government’s policies and guidelines in promoting responsible gaming (RG).
The statement added that the company can accomplish this by giving its employees a more comprehensive, long-lasting, and effective platform for promoting RG through a variety of activities such as roadshows, interactive pop-up games, online quiz games, advanced training and courses on gambling-related knowledge, and more.
The statement mentioned that Executive Vice President of Gaming Operations & Strategic Marketing of MGM Tian Han said that the integrated resort operator has launched a new “MGM Responsible Gaming Employee Care Programme” alongside last year’s “MGM RG Community Engagement Scheme”. These programmes have initiated an “internal and external dual- track” approach, promoting social advocacy and strengthening employee skills.
According to the statement, MGM aims to leverage innovative approaches to reinforce RG understanding and execution, building a foundation for long-term stability and sustainable development. MGM will continue to collaborate with other entities to promote RG-related information, fostering a healthy society.
