The Legislative Assembly Electoral Affairs Committee (CAEAL) will hold a briefing for members of the public with a special interest in the upcoming poll in mid April, its president, Tong Hio Fong, said yesterday, adding that committee will send election-related information to residents through various channels in the run-up to polling day.

The direct and indirect legislative elections will be held on September 17, after a two-week election campaign scheduled to end at midnight on September 15. As is customary, no campaigning will be allowed on “cooling-off day” on the eve of, and on polling day.

Tong made the remarks after a regular meeting of the six-member committee at the Public Administration Building in Rua do Campo.
