The Macau Book Carnival kicked off on Friday at the Macao Polytechnic University’s (MPU) Multi-Sport Pavilion, with this year’s event marking the 28th edition and will be held through Sunday, inviting book lovers to visit.
The event, organised by the Macao Association of Literacy Promotion and this year themed “East Asian Culture is the Brilliance of the World”, features thousands of titles, according to a statement on the carnival’s Facebook page. Carnival-goers can browse and buy books in Chinese, Portuguese, and English.
Moreover, there are a raft of activities on offer, numbering at over 30. Carnival-goers can attend book launches, concerts, lectures on intangible cultural heritage, and even magic shows, according to the event page. There will also be book signing sessions and parent-child workshops, as well as an ongoing painting exhibition, while a lucky draw is also open for one to join and win prizes.
One can visit the free-admission book carnival from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. during the weekend. More details on the events set to be held during the fair’s run can also be found on the Facebook page.
