Govt approves new degree programmes: USJ

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) announced yesterday that its new Master of Education programme which includes a stream on inclusive education and a new Bachelor of Psychology programme has been approved by the government.

Addressing yesterday’s press conference on the university’s premises in Nape about the new programmes and the findings of the university’s inclusive education research project, Ana Correia, dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Education, said the Master of Education programme will have two streams, “Special Needs and Inclusive Education” and “School Management and Leadership”.

Correia said graduates from the “Special Needs and Inclusive Education” stream will be recognised by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) to teach inclusive education classes, adding that students will learn how to teach children diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome (AS), and with other disabilities.
