Air quality slightly worsens: govt survey

Macau’s air quality slightly worsened last year: fewer days when air quality was “good” were recorded at a number of monitoring stations across the city last year, while more days when air quality was “moderate” were recorded, compared to 2015, according to official data released by the Statistics and Census Service Bureau (DSEC) yesterday.

According to the Environmental Statistics 2016 data, for the “roadside” monitoring station in Rua do Campo as well as the monitoring station in the “high density residential area” in the northern district, the number of “good” air quality days decreased last year, while the number of “moderate” air quality days increased, compared to 2015.

For these two monitoring stations, the number of “poor” air quality days declined last year, according to the data.
