The four-day Macao Fashion Festival 2025 opened yesterday at The Venetian Macao’s Florence Meeting Room bringing together designers and brands from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Co-organised by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) and the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), the festival aims to highlight Macau’s growing influence in the fashion industry and provides a platform to promote local creativity on a global stage, according to a statement by CPTTM yesterday.
Held concurrently with the 30th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair (MIF), this year’s festival is themed “Fashion Voyage.” The event, which ends on Saturday, presents original designs, apparel, and accessories from Macau brands, inviting fairgoers to experience the cultural stories behind each collection.
In order to extend its global reach, the event is being live-streamed through a dedicated online mini-programme, allowing viewers worldwide to watch the shows and revisit key moments.
The festival features eight professional fashion shows. Yesterday’s opening ceremony combined robotic technology with the creations of six emerging local designers. The opening day also included the “Style • Encounter Moment” Fashion Parade under the Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making, presenting new collections from seven local designers.
Over the following days, the event will include the “Greater Bay Area Fashion Parade”, featuring designers from Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen and the “Crafting Dream: CPTTM Fashion Parade of Emerging Designers,” which aims to showcase collaborative works from the MaConsef Incubation Project and Macau’s WorldSkills fashion contestants, the statement added.
Through this presentation of style, technology, and cultural exchange, Macao Fashion Festival 2025 aims to position the city as an emerging hub for design and creativity in the GBA, the statement noted.
