A suspected arson case occurred outside a residential building on Beco da Ostra (蠔里) in the Laahn Gwai Lau neighbourhood yesterday morning, resulting in the burning of four motorcycles and damage to the building’s exterior wall and air conditioning units, according to a statement from the Judiciary Police (PJ).

The statement noted that the Judiciary Police (PJ) received a notification from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) at 6:09 a.m. yesterday about a fire outside a building on Beco da Ostra (“Oyster Alley”). After firefighters extinguished the blaze, a preliminary assessment found that the cause of the fire was suspicious.

The police discovered that four motorcycles parked alongside the building were severely burned, leaving only the frames behind. The fire also spread to two other nearby motorcycles and three outdoor air conditioning units mounted on the exterior wall, with the nearby walls blackened by smoke.

The statement added that no one was injured or reported feeling unwell during the incident, pointing out that the case has been classified as suspected arson.
