Macau's 2025 Reading Festival stalls’ registration opens

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement on Monday aiming to further enhance public participation in reading promotion activities, the “Macao Reading Festival 2025” will be held early next month at the Taipa Houses complex.

According to the statement, the recruitment process for local creative retail and beverage or snack stalls for the event is open until November 19, the registration and rental fees of which are free.

The event, themed “A Reading Holiday,” the Macao Reading Festival 2025, features diverse activities including an outdoor reading area, workshops, specialty stalls, film screenings, and cultural performances, the statement said.

The statement noted that a total of 25 stalls will be available for the event, comprising 15 creative retail stalls and 10 beverage or snack stalls; the creative retail stalls are required to display original products related to the concepts of “Reading” or “Healing,” while the beverage and snack stalls should provide light fare or beverages.

Assessments will be based on criteria including operational capability, product creativity and uniqueness, and relevance to the event’s theme, the statement said, adding that a comprehensive scoring system will determine the final selection and order of successful applicants. All applicants will be notified of the results by November 30.

The application guidelines and form can be downloaded from the Public Library website (www.library.gov.mo), and submitted via email macaolib@icm.gov.mo, or in person at the IC Public Library Management Department during office hours within the application period.
