According to Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario, the government needs “a few days” to find a solution to the possible cancellations of the home ownership scheme (HOS) purchase contracts of applicants who themselves, or members of their households, have become owners of a private residential property while waiting for the HOS deeds to be signed, lawmaker Kwan Tsui Hang said yesterday.
The Housing Bureau (IH) said in a statement last month that it had had cancelled the HOS purchase contracts for 61 such applicants.According to the HOS law, an applicant for an HOS flat, or any of their household members, is not allowed to own another residential flat in Macau before the HOS deed is signed, the statement said.
