The “2025 Let’s Hang Out – Lusophone and Macao Products Bazaar” in Guangzhou, jointly organised by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Guangzhou Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, concluded yesterday after a three-day run in the North Square of Guangzhou’s Grandview Mall, which drew many visitors and strong business interests, according to an IPIM statement.
According to the Friday statement, the bazaar was held between Friday and yesterday, marking the first time the “Let’s Hang Out” series expanded beyond Macau and Hengqin to Guangzhou.
The event featured 26 Macau small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), presenting more than 200 products from Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) and Macau, including beverages, snacks, tinned food, aromatic goods, accessories, cultural and creative items, and daily necessities, the statement noted.
Among the participating enterprises, four joined the event for the first time, while several launched new products on-site, the statement said.
According to IPIM, its promotional pricing attracted much attention, with selected items offered at discounts of more than 20 percent and some products priced as low as one yuan. In order to broaden exposure and sales channels, the event also incorporated live-streaming sessions hosted by internet influencers, the statement added.
The programme combined commerce with culture, featuring Portuguese songs, traditional folk dances, Brazilian samba drumming, and other performances, the statement said. In addition, there were free artistic workshops, including wine tasting and frisbee activities, held by prior registration.
The bazaar recorded an “enthusiastic” response from residents, buyers, and tourists, the statement noted. Guangzhou visitors said the event’s blend of PSCs’ cultural elements made it suitable for family outings and weekend shopping, while first-time Macau exhibitors expressed optimism about expanding into the Guangzhou and Greater Bay Area (GBA) markets, the statement added.
Held in more than 10 places to date, the “Let’s Hang Out” series continues to promote PSCs’ culture and Macau products in Chinese mainland markets, the statement noted, concluding that it aimed to strengthen Macau’s role as a service platform for trade cooperation between China and PSCs.
