Panellists and members of the audience at yesterday’s Macau Forum called for harsher measures, in addition to the tightening of the city’s mortgage rules, to tackle speculation in the residential property market.
The weekly open-air debate is hosted by government-owned broadcast TDM in Areia Preta Park every Sunday.On Thursday, the government announced a cut on home mortgage loans by between 10 and 20 percent for non-first time and non-local homebuyers, which took effect the following day.
