Magician and mentalist Drummond Money-Coutts (DMC) will perform in Macau for the first time later this month, according to a statement issued by SJM Resorts on Tuesday.
DMC will stage a series of shows from February 19 to 24 at SJM properties, including Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) and Grand Lisboa. According to the statement, DMC is celebrated globally for his close-up magic and masterful mentalism, with performances spanning over 50 countries. He is known to international audiences from the Netflix series ‘Death by Magic’ and National Geographic’s ‘Beyond Magic with DMC’.
The British performer is the aristocratic heir and descendant of a distinguished banking family that founded Coutts, which, according to Wikipedia, is a private bank that provides services to some of the wealthiest families in Britain.
A couple of his shows will be held at the contemporary Portuguese restaurant Mesa by José Avillez at Grand Lisboa Palace on February 21 and 22. For these performances, the restaurant will offer a special six-course tasting menu priced at 1,288 patacas per person, allowing guests to experience the magic alongside a fine dining experience.
The statement also outlined a ticket redemption offer. Guests who spend 5,000 patacas or more at designated restaurants at Grand Lisboa Palace or Grand Lisboa, and who register as an SJM Supreme Card member, are eligible to obtain two tickets for a performance. Tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
SJM said that bringing the performer to the city reflects its commitment to establishing Macau as a “City of Performing Arts” by introducing ‘world-class talent’. Further details regarding show schedules and ticket redemption will be announced on SJM Resort’s official website and social media platforms.
Stay tuned for an interview with DMC in an upcoming article.
