MGM has opened the first Macau outpost of Singapore-based dining brand Chatterbox Café, according to a statement issued by the integrated resort on Tuesday.
The restaurant celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday. According to the statement, Chatterbox has a legacy spanning over five decades and is known for blending authentic Singaporean flavours with contemporary culinary techniques.
The opening ceremony was attended by Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited Kenneth Feng Xiaofeng and Chief Executive Officer of OUE Restaurants Brian Riady, among other representatives.
Feng was quoted by the statement as saying: “Gastronomy is a universal language that speaks across borders and cultures”. He noted that both Singapore and Macau are crossroads of cultural exchange and expressed the hope that Chatterbox would allow the two cities to form a deeper connection through shared flavours.
The interior of the restaurant draws inspiration from the brand’s Singapore flagship while incorporating local architectural elements, the statement said.
According to the statement, four bespoke paintings by Singaporean artist Tan Zi Xi depict signature dishes such as Singapore Mandarin Chicken Rice, Lobster Laksa, and Singapore Chicken Curry, alongside symbolic elements from Macau’s wetlands, including the lotus flower and the black-faced spoonbill.
The restaurant operates daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and is located at MGM MACAU on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat Sen. Further information is available on the company’s official website https://www.mgm.mo/en/dining/mgm-macau/chatterbox-cafe .
