The fiscal reserves of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) reached an all-time high at the end of last year – 668.4 billion patacas, an increase of 0.7 percent from the previous record of 663.5 billion patacas in February 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a statement by the Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) published in the MSAR Official Gazette yesterday.
Last year, the fiscal reserves’ investments generated a positive balance of nearly 43 billion patacas.
Between the end of 2024 and the end of last year, the fiscal reserves grew by 52.2 billion patacas, or 8.47 percent.
