Caritas Macau Secretary General Paul Pun Chi Meng yesterday said his group has started to provide a mobility solution for local wheelchair users who live in buildings without lifts, thereby having great difficulty in getting in and out of their flats, with a stair climber.

Pun announced the new service during a press conference at a family service centre run by the Catholic welfare organisation in São Lourenço district.

According to Pun, the group has three battery-powered stair climbers, one trained staff member and several volunteers for the service.
