The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a male Philippine national for drug-trafficking and drug-taking on Tuesday, PJ spokesman Ho Wai Lok said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Ho identified the suspect as a 27-year-old non-resident-worker (NRW) surnamed Cayas, working as a salesman.

According to Ho, based on a tip-off, the Judiciary Police discovered that Cayas was suspected of drug-related activities, such as selling e-cigarette oil containing drug ingredients to compatriots.

PJ officers arrested Cayas in the city centre on Tuesday and seized three e-cigarette oil bottles containing drug ingredients, weighing 44.17 grams in total, Ho said.

During a subsequent search of Cayas’s residence, Ho said, PJ officers seized three additional bottles of the same type of e-liquid, weighing around 169.22 grams, along with four plastic bottles stained with e-liquid containing the drug, and one e-cigarette device with a cartridge.

Ho said that a total of 213.39 grams of e-liquids containing synthetic cannabinoids were seized, with an estimated street value of around 31,000 patacas.

Cayas has meanwhile been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of drug-trafficking, drug-taking, and possession of drug taking paraphernalia.
