The findings of a survey conducted by the Association of Building a Good Home Together, chaired by lawmaker Wong Kit Cheng, show that local parents feel stressed about having to take care of their children as they need to work long hours. The group urged the government to implement family-friendly policies to help relieve local families of stress.
The group yesterday announced the findings of a survey about local family situations and needs during a press conference at the headquarters of the Women’s General Association of Macau (commonly known as Fu Luen) in Rua da Barca. Wong is a vice-president of Fu Luen.
The survey was conducted in April and 1,259 valid questionnaires were collected. About 77 percent of the respondents were aged between 31 and 45, while over 50 percent have a bachelor’s degree.
