Manulife Macau celebrated yesterday at Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai its 30 years of operations in Macau and the first anniversary of its participation in the city’s Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund (CPF) System, while launching a citywide lucky draw for customers.
The twin milestones reflect its long-term commitment to helping Macau residents strengthen their financial resilience through insurance, health protection and retirement planning. Since entering the Macau market in 1996, Manulife said it has expanded its insurance and retirement offerings while investing in customer services through both physical and digital channels.
Ivan Chan (陳鴻展), chief distribution officer of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau, said that the company remains committed to supporting customers at every stage of life. “Over the past three decades, Manulife has grown alongside Macau, building lasting relationships with customers and the community”, Chan said, adding that the company would continue to strengthen its capabilities, broaden access to its services and provide “holistic, high-quality solutions” through its agency, bancassurance* and brokerage channels.
Meanwhile, Louisa Li (李婉嘉), head of Macau Branch Manulife (International) Limited, said that Macau remains an important market for the company. “Our continued investments reflect our long-term commitment to Macau’s future and our continued support for the advancement of the local financial services industry and its talent pool”, Li said.
The company noted in a statement yesterday that Macau’s ageing population has increased demand for retirement planning. Citing market statistics, Manulife said that around 40 percent of the workforce now participates in private pension schemes and the CPF System, while the number of provident fund schemes grew by about 6.0 percent year on year in the first quarter of this year.
Moreover, Jeanie Ho (何精怡), head of Hong Kong and Macau Retirement, said the trend reflects increasing public awareness of retirement planning. “We are committed to expanding innovative retirement solutions to meet the evolving needs of residents”, she said, adding that Manulife currently offers 10 pension funds, including healthcare- and technology-focused funds that, she said, are “unique” in Macau’s pension market.
In order to commemorate its 30th anniversary, Manulife has launched a citywide lucky draw running from yesterday through November 10, the statement noted. Eligible customers who purchase designated insurance plans and complete online registration can enter to win prizes including a ZEEKR X electric vehicle, physical gold, hotel gift cards, travel vouchers and supermarket e-vouchers.
