The 2026 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair (2026GMBPF) opens tomorrow at Cotai Expo Hall A in The Venetian Macao, featuring a record 459 exhibitors and over 80 activities focused on the silver economy and healthy living, according to a press conference held yesterday by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

The four-day fair, running from tomorrow through Sunday, covers nearly 13,000 square metres and showcases more than 10,000 products from Guangdong and Macau, as well as Belt & Road (B&R) countries and regions*.

Addressing yesterday’s press conference, IPIM Acting President Sam Lei Chong Sam said this year’s event has attracted the highest number of exhibitors in the fair’s 18-year history, representing a 10 per cent increase over last year.

According to an IPIM statement released yesterday, the fair features 177 local exhibitors, 176 firms from Guangdong Province, and 106 businesses from the B&R. This year’s edition introduces three new exhibition zones – the Smart Senior Wellness Experience Pavilion, the Healthy Living Zone, and an upgraded New Gourmet Tasting Zone – alongside the traditional Guangdong Branded Products Zone, Macao Featured Products Zone, and Belt and Road Products Zone.

The new zones will showcase eldercare technologies, including AI companion robots and non-invasive blood glucose testing, alongside healthy lifestyle products, and culinary experiences.

The opening day is designated as Trade Visitor Day, featuring business matching sessions, themed forums, and product launches. Highlights include the Macao-Hengqin Forum on the Integration of Cross-boundary Elderly Care Services, held in Hengqin. The remaining three days will be open to the public free of charge, featuring interactive workshops, cultural performances, and promotional discounts.

Visitors spending 300 patacas or more will be eligible for shopping rewards, while admission tickets double as entries for a lucky draw featuring prizes such as electric motorcycles and massage chairs.

Lei noted that since its launch in 2009, the fair has evolved from a traditional trade show into a comprehensive platform promoting industrial collaboration between Guangdong and Macao. He added that this year’s event places strong emphasis on developing the silver economy by showcasing smart eldercare products and facilitating targeted business matching.

The number of halal-certified exhibitors has more than doubled compared with last year, with businesses from Pakistan participating for the first time alongside returning exhibitors from Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore.

Additionally, IPIM will promote Macau’s “first-store economy” by providing consultation services and hosting seminars for overseas brands interested in establishing their initial outlets in the city.

The 2026GMBPF runs through Sunday at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, offering business networking opportunities, product exhibitions, and public activities aimed at driving trade, healthy living, and silver economy innovation.
