Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) Cultural Heritage Department Chief Leong Wai Man said yesterday the responsibility of heritage preservation should not fall only on the government’s shoulders, but be shared by every resident in the city.

Leong made the remarks when addressing yesterday’s Macau Forum as a panellist. The weekly open-air debate is hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in Areia Preta Park every Sunday.

The forum discussed the draft decisions released by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee at the end of last month expressing concern about the state of preservation of some local heritage sites.
