A private car flipped over after colliding with a parked vehicle on Estrada de Cacilhas (海邊馬路) at noon yesterday, a Public Security Police Force (PSP) spokesman confirmed to the Post by phone last night.
According to the spokesman, PSP officers received a report at 12:14 p.m. yesterday of a traffic accident with an injured person on that stretch of road.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a vehicle lying on its roof in the middle of the road. The driver – the only person injured – had already climbed out of the vehicle unaided.
The spokesman identified the driver as a local man in his 30s who was conscious and coherent. A breathalyser test returned a reading of zero. However, as he had sustained minor injuries, he was taken to the private Kiang Wu Hospital for treatment.
Initial enquiries revealed that the driver collided with a vehicle parked in a metered bay on the left side of the road, causing his car to overturn. As the driver was still receiving medical attention when the Post talked to the PSP spokesman, the exact cause of the incident still remained unclear last night, the spokesman added.
