Directly-elected lawmaker Mak Soi Kun yesterday urged the city’s three public bus operators to attract more young local people to work as bus drivers, as the average age of their bus drivers has been rising, which he said was not good for the safety of public bus operations.
The Macau Jiangmen Communal Society yesterday held a meeting for residents to express their opinions about the city’s bus services. About 80 people attended the meeting at the association’s service centre in Rua da Ribeira do Patane, which was co-hosted by a number of board members of the group.
Mak, who is a vice-chairman of the Macau Jiangmen Communal Society, addressed the meeting.
