A Philippine domestic helper is suspected of having stolen jewellery worth HK$530,000 from her employer’s flat, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Yeung Sau Chan said during a regular press conference at the PJ headquarters in Zape yesterday.
Yeung said the tenant of a flat in Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van reported on Monday that he had lost contact with his landlady’s domestic helper last week. He then discovered several pieces of jewellery were missing from a wardrobe drawer.

According to Yeung, the landlady is a 65-year-old local woman who lives in Canada, and the tenant is a local clerk.
