The Macau Properties and Facilities Management Association yesterday called for the government, in collaboration with power utility CEM, to set up electric vehicle charging stations for tourist coaches, to encourage travel companies to buy e-coaches.

CEM has set up 70 e-vehicle charging stations for cars and motorcycles in 18 public car parks. The utility said earlier this year that it planned to roll out 50 more charging stations for cars and motorcycles in several other public car parks.

Albert Chuck Chung Yin, who heads the association, made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a forum about the latest e-coach technology. The forum, which was held at the Macau Science Centre, was jointly organised by Chuck’s association, Macau China Commercial Vehicles Trading Limited and mainland bus manufacturer Yutong.
