A survey carried out by the Institute for Social and Cultural Research of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) released yesterday shows that local residents tend to pay attention to the previous performance of election candidates, rather than the political platforms they announce, when they decide which election group they will vote for during the upcoming legislative elections.

The direct and indirect legislative elections will take place on September 17.

A press conference about the findings of the survey was held at Macau Tower yesterday. The survey was commissioned by the newly-founded Macau Creative Intelligence Development and Research Association. Lin Guangzhi, who heads the research institute, presented the findings of the survey at the press conference.
