The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a man on Sunday for attacking another man with a wooden beam after the two men had a heated argument – which left the victim with life-threatening injuries, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said at a special press conference yesterday.

Ho identified the suspect as a 46-year-old electrician surnamed Ao, and the victim as a 50-year-old casino dealer.

According to Ho, Ao and his wife returned to Macau on Sunday afternoon after shopping in the mainland. When they were walking outside the Barrier Gate border checkpoint at 4:30 p.m., Ao accidently brushed the victim with the bags he was carrying.
