The water at Sands China’s hotel property The Parisian Macau in Cotai, which tested positive for Legionnaires’ disease bacteria in April that caused three people to become ill, is found to have the same bacteria again, based on recent tests by the Health Bureau (SSM).
The Health Bureau said in a statement on Friday that while the hotel had changed the sterilisation system of its water system in September, the bureau had carried out tests again in October which showed that Legionella was present in the hotel’s shopping mall toilets, in the swimming pool’s changing rooms, “Aqua World” changing rooms, restaurant toilets, and a boiler that supplies hot water to the hotel’s third to sixth floors.
Sands China said in a statement sent to The Macau Post Daily last night that it “has cooperated fully with the Health Bureau to ensure that the quality of the water at The Parisian Macao meets the highest international standards”.
