Two golden snub-nosed monkeys that arrived in Macau in October have completed their quarantine and are ready to meet the public at Seac Pai Van Park in Coloane from tomorrow, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) announced in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the pair are on loan from the mainland’s Qinhuangdao Wildlife Rescue Centre as part of a cooperation arrangement to raise awareness of conservation.
The statement said that the primates – a male and a female – are under 24-hour observation by IACM keepers and after a series of health checks, the monkeys passed all the required evaluation tests and have adapted very well to the food and environment of their enclosure in Seac Pai Van Park.
