A suspect was arrested for stealing chips from a casino, while another one was arrested in a gaming chip exchange fraud, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a regular press conference at the PJ headquarters in Zape yesterday.

Lei noted that the first case took place on November 26 last year in a casino in the city centre. Lei said that police officers on duty at the casino were informed by security guards about a man stealing chips from a chip float. After investigating, the police found that the suspect had lifted six chips, each worth HK$50,000.

According to Lei, the suspect is an unemployed 35-year-old man from the mainland surnamed Wang, who left the city soon after the crime that evening.
