Macau’s top anti-smoking official said yesterday that the government would change the colour of the lines painted on the ground indicating the no-smoking area at bus stops from grey to white, with the aim of making it easier for residents and tourists to see them.

Tang Chi Ho, director of the Smoking Prevention and Control Office of the Health Bureau (SSM), made the remarks as a guest speaker at Macau Forum, a weekly open-air debate hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in Areia Preta Park every Sunday.

The toughened version of Macau’s anti-smoking law took effect on January 1.
