A woman who fell to her death on the construction site of the five-star Morpheus hotel on Sunday was an illegal worker, as was her husband, the Public Security Police (PSP) said yesterday.
The deceased was a woman from the mainland surnamed Liu, and her husband, both in their thirties, who were illegally employed to work at the site, according to the Public Security Police (PSP).
The Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement yesterday that Liu and her husband on Sunday afternoon were painting a ceiling on the fifth floor of the building. Her husband went out to get some tools at 4:30 p.m. When he returned half an hour later, he found his wife on the ground below after falling seven metres. Liu’s head was bleeding profusely. A security guard at the site called the police.
