Seasoned central government legal affairs official Shen Chunyao was appointed yesterday as head of the Macau Basic Law Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Xinhua reported.
The NPC Standing Committee made the appointment.
According to Xinhua, Shen will concurrently head the NPC Hong Kong Basic Law Committee.
Shen Chunyao, then still the chairman of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee, answers questions at a press conference about proposed constitutional amendments, in Beijing on March 11.
