A geotechnical engineer attending yesterday’s Macau Forum as a guest speaker urged the government to resurface the whole of Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro and change all the pipes and drains underneath with the aim of fundamentally solving the problem of possible subsidence incidents happening again there.
The city’s main thoroughfare is informally known as San Ma Lou (“New Road”).
The weekly open-air debate is hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in Areia Preta Park every Sunday.
