The Judiciary Police (PJ) are investigating a pawnshop hold-up in Nam Van that occurred in the early hours of yesterday in which about HK$300,000 in cash was taken, according to a PJ statement yesterday.
The pawnshop is located behind Grand Lisboa Hotel.
During a regular press conference yesterday, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said that a Putonghua-speaking man went into the pawnshop at around 2:30 a.m. yesterday, telling a staff member that he wanted to exchange yuan into Hong Kong dollars and buy a watch.
