A local man has been arrested for beating his son who kept playing video games and did not study, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Leng Kam Lon said during a regular press conference yesterday at the PJ headquarters in Zape.

Leng said that the suspect is a 62-year-old surnamed Ip, who works as a technician, and the victim is an eight-year-old who is in P1 in a local school. Leng said it is believed that the two live in Zhuhai.

Leng noted that the police report didn’t elaborate on the details of the family, such as Ip’s marital status, and whether the victim has any siblings.
