The Judiciary Police (PJ) have arrested a woman from Hong Kong for abandoning her baby, who is around 10 months old, in a commercial centre in Avenida de Artur Tamagnini Barbosa on Saturday, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon said yesterday.
The announcement was made during a special press conference at the PJ headquarters in Zape yesterday.
According to Leng, the suspect is a 27-year-old Hong Kong woman surnamed Leung, who told the police that she is separated from her husband in Hong Kong and unemployed. Leung said that she had met a local man who is single and in his sixties in Macau. They had an affair which resulted in the baby. However, according to the police, there is no medical records about the baby in Macau.
